When it rains, it pours

We had a very eventful week since my last blog.  Perhaps putting in writing that had a few projects in mind for the house was tempting fate!  After a very stormy long weekend we have a bit of clean up to do.  Not as much as some severely flood and storm damaged houses but more than the last flood in 2011.  This time this storm took out a bird attracting native bottle brush bush, and it looks like we have a leak in our roof.  We had to take out the carpet in Gavin's room (smelled really bad) and carpet in the study is also wet and have to be replaced.  First of course the insurance will have to get sorted out and the roof will have to be repaired...

Why that bush only I don't know!
The carpet smelled bad but Gavin slept through the whole night!

The kids love helping to blow out candles!
We celebrated Ben's birthday at Ted and Tricia's house. Tricia made an amazing pavlova. YUM!

Lachlan started Prep and Gavin started school a day later due to power outages and storm damage.

The boys have loved sharing Lachlan's room together.  Our story time is now just a little different.

Just like bunk beds

Well that's our week of adventure.  Hopefully my next post will be a sample of the crochet I am working on (just the got books today) a tote completed and a bit of painting done.

Take care and stay dry!

The beginning

In honour of my son starting school I thought I'd take the plunge and start a blog.  There will be a lot of beginnings this year.  My youngest Loch starting school, my oldest Gav going to a new school, darling husband having a go at Tough Mudder http://toughmudder.com.au/  (crazy man) and me, looking forward to doing a few projects I've had in mind.  So many possibilities!
So an exciting year ahead full of possibilities for us all.

We had a great summer full of swimming and exploring new places.

Riding of scooters, early before the teenages got up and it got busy.  Its amazing how well superheros and ninjas ride scooters and save the day.

But summer holidays are nearly over and games of "keep off the floor"  and "lava" will soon have to wait until after homework or on the weekends.

Its an exciting beginning and I look forward to sharing it with anyone who cares to read about it.  I will share a quick peek of one idea I already had in mind...

I'll start small with painting this Op shop buy of a corner shelf white to freshen up our front porch.  I already cheated a bit and bought a bench already painted white off ebay to go opposite next to the front door.   After I finish this I'll take a photo and share my next project.
