School, sewing and messy fingers

We had a full week all settling into our new routines.  Lachlan is missing being at home but he is enjoying being at school.  This morning at drop off he told me "mum, we are doing science today".  So gorgeous my big boy.  And Gavin is settling into his school too, excited to see they are having a Lego Club once a week at lunch break.  Can't get much better than that eh!

Lachlan's fish Jake.  Taking a photo to school to talk about his pet.

A first taste of chocolate sauce on an icecream cone at home.  Messy but soooo good.

Well I am happy to say I have had a go at crochet.  Its proving to be a bit trickier than I thought.

Yes that tiny little yellow thing is a chain stitch.  I tried the small red yarn but it was too slippery (100% viscose). I tried the yellow yarn (100% cotton) but it was a bit on the small side even though I did make a small chain.  So I bought (100% acrylic) with a bigger crochet hook and it was heaps easier.  However I struggle to do any other stitch!

I also finished a couple of totes for gifts.

And good news!  It wasn't the roof at all that was leaking but the windows, due to sideways windy rain.  A bit of silicone and its all good.  However still waiting on insurance to check on the windows and carpet.  Gav is still sharing with Lachlan but they are still enjoying the novelty.  Phew!

  1. Nice way to keep in touch for those far away! I'll try to keep checking... but I can't promise anything! Uliana's started her 6 week fussiness...

  2. I didn’t know there was a 6 week fussiness to be had. Not to worry Emillie, time is a luxury and these blogs aren’t going anywhere. I am enjoying your blog as well and love to check out how everyone is. Loving your photos. Your blog has definitely inspired me to start my own. It is great way to keep you all up to date at the same time! xXx

  3. Great news about the roof! They are horrible jobs to try and replace and with more rain today not so easy to get done quickly. And I'm glad to hear the boys are still taking the sharing as a novelty and not getting sick of each other (yet?).
